When creating an Express Avatar, one of the required steps is recording a Consent Statement. This ensures that avatar creation is done with explicit user permission and identity verification.
How does the consent process work?
- The consent must be recorded via webcam — uploads are not allowed for security reasons
- A dynamic passcode will appear on screen and must be read aloud while recording
- Once completed, the consent is automatically saved to your account and can be reused for future avatars
Consent validation steps:
- Transcription check: Your spoken consent is transcribed and compared to the script (including dynamic words)
- Face recognition: Confirms that the person in the consent video matches the person in the avatar footage
- Voice verification*: Uses a third-party tool to verify that the voice in the consent matches the voice in the footage
🔍 Important: Make sure to read every word clearly and accurately. Mispronunciations or skipped words may cause the consent to fail.
If you’ve already recorded a valid consent in the past, you’ll have the option to reuse it when creating a new Express Avatar.
