Log in to your D-ID account and click the “+ Create video” button on the home screen.

Select a voice by clicking on the voice icon.
You can preview each option using the play button next to the voice name. -
When everything’s set, click the “Generate video” button at the top right corner
2. Choose an avatar from the library, or upload your own image (see image guidelines below).
3. In the Script tab, either type your text or upload an audio file for your avatar to speak (audio guidelines below).
4. Select a voice by clicking on the voice icon.

5. When everything’s set, click the “Generate video” button at the top right corner.
Your video will begin processing and will be ready in a few minutes, depending on its length.
- Once your video is ready, you'll receive a notification both in the Studio and via email.
Upload audio - guidelines
- Audio size limit: 10MB
- Maximum length: 5 minutes
- Supported formats: MP3, FLAC, M4A, MP4, WAV
- You can:
- Upload a recorded file
- Record your voice directly in the Studio
- Clone your voice to make your avatar your personal spokesperson
Upload image - guidelines
For best results, make sure your image is:
- Front-facing
- Neutral expression
- Well-lit
- Without face occlusions (no sunglasses, hair, etc.)
- Minimum face size: 200x200px
- Maximum file size: 10MB
Downloading and sharing a video
To download your video:
- Hover over the video in your gallery
- Click the three dots (⋯) in the top-right corner
- Select Download
⚠️ Note that draft videos cannot be downloaded.
To share your video:
- Hover over the video
- Click the three dots (⋯)
- Choose Share — you’ll get instant sharing options
Video quality
- Standard Avatars: Up to 1280x1280 resolution, depending on your image
- Premium+ Avatars (marked with an HQ icon): Up to 1080p resolution
How to add Subtitles
Subtitles are available on the Pro plan and above.
To include subtitles:
- Click “Generate video”
- Select “Include subtitles”
After the video is generated:
- Go to your gallery
- Click the video menu
- Select “Export subtitles”
Subtitles are provided as a separate SRT file, not embedded in the video.
You can play the SRT file alongside the video using players that support subtitles like VLC.
